The night before I went back (Sunday, 9/25) - I cried. And cried. And cried. I just could not imagine leaving her - even if it was with my mom. I even cried myself to sleep that night. But I was fine - and only cried a couple times at work that week. :) She seemed to do ok...even though in my mind I figured she was thinking "why is my mommy leaving me at grandma's when we used to spend every day together?!". :) She probably wasn't...but I was pretty sure she was. She's adapted pretty well - and so has grandma. :) Right, mom? :)
I think the hardest part is working the weekends...because I have to leave Derrick here with all 3 kids alone. Hopefully I won't have too many more long weekends - where I'm gone pretty much from Saturday morning until Sunday evening. I hate missing bath and bed time with Maddie!
I did weigh her on her 3-month birthday...and she weighed (on my Weight Watchers scale!) 13.9lbs. So she's gained almost another pound in the last month. We go see Dr. Kidd again in the middle of November - and I'll have new stats then.
So at 3 months, Madison...
...still has that crazy mullet hair going on...I think it might be getting darker still, although Derrick still thinks it has hints of red in it. Er, auburn. ;)
...still has chameleon eyes...one day they are blue, one day green, one day brown. We still have no idea what color they will end up! They are very dark though in pictures.
...she has made major milestones in the sleep department! When I first went back to work, she would sleep close to 7 hours -but she would go to sleep at 8pm...which meant she was up at 4am to eat again. Which was *not* fun when you then had to then get up at 6am to go to work! But about 3 weeks ago, she slept until 6am...sometimes even until the alarm went off! It has been so nice to actually sleep all night! She still wants to go to sleep around 8pm-8:30pm - just sleeps longer. Thank you Miss Madison! Now if we could just get the nap schedule down...
...she still loves her bath time! About a week ago she started splashing up a storm...legs, arms, head - all flailing about! It's so cute. :) She also adds in some shouts and squeals! We've started throwing in toys too - she has started grasping things and she likes to hold them in the tub! Especially her wash cloth!
...she has started eating a *lot* more - like 5-6 ounces at a time. I'm starting to wonder if maybe we're giving her too much at a time...but she seems to want it. She just spits up a little bit more than she used to. We're pretty much stuck on the Gerber Good Start formula - it has more of the same consistency as breast milk.
...her clothes. wow. that girl is growing like a weed - and her clothes are getting smaller and smaller! I just bought some new pajamas - and they are 9 months! A little sad to get rid of her 0-3 months clothes...and really sad that she never even got to wear some of the cute summer outfits I had!
...as you'll see below, she has changed a lot physically in the past month. She seems to have gotten "longer" - even her face seems longer! She wants so badly to sit up...and mom thinks she will be sooner rather than later. She also rolls over now - and almost has the rolling over the whole way down...just gets stuck on her arm. :) I don't think we do tummy time enough - but she seems to be getting stronger anyway.
