New Job, New Clothes and Old Trees?! :)

We've had a busy week in the Moore household!

Derrick started his new job at the Sheraton last Thursday - and so far, so good!  He was super nervous that morning - but he's really adjusted well and says he feels a ton of stress is gone. They are a pretty laid back and friendly bunch there from what he says - and they think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread! :)  It was hard for me the first couple days - not having him right there like he's always been...but I've adjusted ok too. :)  I seem to get a lot more done at work without him there? :) I'll be glad when he has his own computer though (he's still training with the person he's replacing) so we can chat throughout the day. :)  It's hard to have to text him when I have something to tell / ask him!  I think his favorite part is not having to clock in / out each day. :)  He's a manager now you know!  So proud of him!

Madison did get some new "stuff" this weekend...but don't worry - nothing I paid for. :)  I had my $20 gift card from Target for starting a registry....so I bought a couple new things - they had some cute new summer stuff and I got a couple new "toys" for her car seat.  Found an adorable Easter dress on clearance for $14 - it was blue and poufy...alas, they only had 3 months and 9 months left.  I have WAY too much 0-3 months stuff now - and 9 months probably won't fit her by next Spring.  So, yes, I put it back!   Love the "All American Baby - Born in 2011" bodysuit!! :)

We got married on Arbor Day 2009...and gave away treelings as our favor.  It was fun and quite the "bonding" experience for us.  :)  Derrick and I actually made the "cover" for the cartons they came in...and spent an evening (or two?) cutting the fabric and tying the ribbon around them.  We did like 150 of these!  We still have cut marks on the kitchen table from where Derrick was cutting the fabric! :)   They looked like this...(shout out to my sister for doing the design on the little cards!):

Unfortunately, we killed all of the extras that we had. :(  Hey - I never said I was good with plants! :)  I always hated that we never saved any of them - since it was kind of a symbol of our marriage - and we killed them all. :)  BUT!  My dear friend Andrea G. had three from that night...and was kind enough to let me have one of the treelings back last week - so that we could plant it in our yard!   So Derrick did just that this weekend...it's right outside our bedroom window so we can watch it grow big and strong - like our marriage!

If you were at our wedding, I'd love to hear how your treeling is doing! :)

I had my 28-week doctor's appointment last Friday - mom went with me since we didn't think it would be appropriate for Derrick to ask off on his 2nd day at the new job. :)   All is going well...although I did gain 11lbs. last month alone. :)  Mom wasn't thrilled - but Dr. Perkins said that he would give me a "free pass" this month considering I hadn't really gained that much before this month.  So I'm up to about 24lbs. total.  Blood pressure is still the same - so that's good.  Had my 1-hour glucose test - and we'll get those results in a few days...no news is good news they say!   I start my bi-monthly doctor visits now...so we'll see Dr. P again next week!   Only 12 weeks to go!  I'm ready for Madison to be here! :)

  1. Congrats to Derrick on the new job! And, you should plant a tree when Madison is born. One started growing in my parents' yard when I was born and it is still there-- it's really tall now though. ;)
