Catching Up....Busy Week!

We've had a pretty busy week or so at the Moore house...and most of it can be summed up in pictures. :)

This was Derrick's Father's Day gift from Maddie. :)
I got my dad one as well ("New Grandpa" of course!)
 - so they can wear them at the hospital!
I spent an entire weekend going through all of Maddie's clothes.
*This* tote is just her 9 months+ stuff.
Don't even get me started on 0-9 months! :)
Derrick and I had an appointment through St. Francis
to get our car seat checked in our vehicle.
That was interesting.
Just FYI...we didn't have it in right - but the trainer
was more than happy to tell us how.
We had to 'practice' putting the baby in the car seat too. :)
This doll is 10lbs.
Maddie is (as of last Thursday) 8lbs.60z.
I think I'm in big trouble. ;)

We had our 36-week check-in with Dr. Perkins last Thursday - as well as another ultrasound.  It was probably the most disappointing (?) ultrasound to date - because she's so big now we couldn't really see anything (or anything that I could tell what it was!).  She is head down now though and ready to go (super glad she's not sideways anymore!)!  The tech was mostly checking her organs, head size, spine, etc.  All is good - Dr. Perkins said she is healthy...just **BIG**.  Yup, as in 8lbs.6oz. already.  As in if she keeps gaining 1/2 lb. a week - she'll weigh 10lbs+ when she's born!  I'm also measuring 38 weeks (at 36 weeks).  Dr. Perkins said without a doubt I will have a c-section due to her size..."too many complications can happen with a baby that big" if I were to deliver naturally.  Mom thought that was interesting considering she gave birth to THREE 9lb+ babies! :)

So we will schedule that this Friday, July 1st.  I was really quite stunned when he said it so matter-of-factly that I would have a c-section...so much so that he apologized for catching me off guard. :)  I guess I just always thought I would at least try to have her naturally.  But the more I think about it...the more I like the thought of not having to go thru the labor and pushing and waiting and pushing. :)  However, I have also never had surgery in my life - so I'm sure I'll be scared to death. :)

That was Thursday...on Friday, when we got home from work...this is what my feet looked like:
OMG.

Now. I'm not sure if you can tell how freakish they really looked...but my feet do not usually look like something from a Shrek movie.  Like I couldn't stop looking at them they looked so freakish!  I kept my feet up most of the weekend - but again tonight they were swollen again.  Weird.  I've been told it's normal and to chill - so I will.  But really...freakish!!

I think I'm finally done shopping/stocking up for Maddie...picked up some last items tonight at Target as well as a few more socks and headbands at Buy Buy Baby last night. :)  Now just waiting on a nightgown/robe combo I ordered for the hospital!  Then we are ready to roll!  Also got the Rock & Play from UPS today - love that thing!  Hope she does too. ;)

So just 3 more days until we find out when the big day is!
