Maddie's Daddy's New Job!

One week ago Derrick got a call from an acquaintance at another hotel...asking if he would be interested in her job as she was moving to Baton Rouge with her husband.  My how our life has changed in just one week!   Derrick talked with them on Monday at lunch - and had a job offer by Monday afternoon!  After some negotiating (courtesy of his business savvy wife - haha!) and a couple sleepless nights, he accepted their offer on Wednesday afternoon...and the rest is history!  He starts as the Revenue Manager at the Sheraton City Centre on April 28th.  I think we're past the "scared" part - although I'm sure it'll come back sometime next week as we get closer to his last day at the Westin.  He's been at the Westin for almost 15 years...this is where we met, fell in love...we are together 24/7 right now!  But he'll only be 4 short blocks away - and we promised to still meet for lunch whenever we can. :)  It's a great career move for him - and one that was much needed for him after so long doing the same thing for so many years...I'm pretty sure he can do his current job in his sleep! :)  We will miss him incredibly at the Westin!  And the best part of the deal?  More money!  So!  More dresses for baby Madison!  YEAH! :)

He had to drop off some paperwork on Thursday, so we went for a brief tour of his new hotel and had lunch at their salad/pasta bar.  Good stuff!  Everyone seems really nice there - and they are *very* excited to have Derrick aboard on their team!
