Week #6? I'm Ready For You To Go!!

Week #6 has been a challenge...from the day is started. :)  She's had some...tummy issues...for the past week - more than she has in the past.  She's always been a little "gassy" - but this time it was causing her not to poo - and when she did?  It was a freakin' explosion!  TMI? :)  We've also had bouts of eating minimally (2oz) - and then either falling asleep or fussing that she had had enough.  Only to wake up or scream an hour later demanding more.  So frustrating.  And trust me...no amount of feet tickling, singing in her face, squeezing her fat little cheeks would wake her up.  She was out *cold*.

Yesterday was a real challenge...she spent most of the day screaming her little head off. :(  Today has been better (with two poo explosions - YES!) but she still doesn't seem quite right.  I'm hoping as the week goes on she comes out of it more and more.  I did think about calling Dr. Kidd - but when I called last week to tell them she hadn't poo-ed (yes, yes, I did do that)...they said he wouldn't be concerned until she hadn't poo-ed in a week.  A WEEK?!  Ca-razy.  Thank God she did poo so I didn't have to go all week worrying...but I think that the fact that she is screaming all day would be of little concern to them. :)  They would probably just say make her fart! :)

Derrick and I have had some chats today about my breastfeeding...and maybe not continuing it.  It's really taking a toll on me (and Derrick!) - and I'm not sure it's good for me or Maddie at this point.  These 2-3 hour sleep nights are killing both of us - and I can't even imagine what it would be like when I went back to work!  And we have no idea how much she is getting...maybe that is why she falls asleep and then wants more an hour later...we have no idea.  I swear yesterday I hardly left my chair - she ate that much that often.  Not normal.  At least with bottles we know how much she is getting and when.  We had pretty much decided to go that route - and then this afternoon I breastfed her (after giving her bottles all day) and she slept for 4 hours. :(  Which makes you kind of reconsider ditching the whole thing...

We had an ok week otherwise - we were out and about quite a bit last week having lunch with friends (Dana and Coleen) and daddy on his birthday.  She really did a great job going out - she either slept or just sat contently...although we did have to feed her a little formula when she got fussy.  She really does a great job in the car...after having lunch with daddy last Thursday I kept driving around just because she was so soundly sleeping in her car seat!   But then I wonder why she's not on any kind of schedule!

Mom and I took her to get her 6-week pictures taken last week too - that was fun. :)  She screamed all the way there - but was perfect during the photo session!  I honestly intended to only but a couple sheets...and ended up buying over $135 worth of pictures. :)  They were all so cute!   I guess we'll go for 3 month pictures next time?   But maybe at Target where I can tell them 'no' easier.  Yeah right.

I had my 6-week check-up - and all is good. :)  I've lost close to 35lbs. in the last 6 weeks - which is all of my pregnancy weight.  Now I just need to work on the rest of it!

Here are some pics from the week!

Hanging out with Grandma Jo!

"um, excuse me?!"

This was a couple nights ago...I had her on my chest -
and she then shimmied her way to my side and nestled
down against me. :)  It was so cute!  She was making herself
comfortable before falling asleep!  She's strong! :)

Birthday Dinner with Daddy!
