Well Baby Visit #3 - Dr. Kidd!

Maddie had her follow-up visit with Dr. Kidd today - and this time I actually made a list of things to ask him! :)  It was a good visit - even though we had to wait a little bit longer than usual this time and I ended up feeding her in the room while we waited.  Next visit will be shots...anyone want to go in my place?! :)

She now weighs in at 10lbs.10.5oz. - head is 14 3/4 - and she is 21 1/2 inches long.  So she is growing!  I may get frustrated with her crazy feeding schedules - but it's working for her!  I can tell she's getting bigger..some of her onesies that fit 3 weeks ago are getting tighter now!  She changes so much now on a daily basis...I don't really see it every day - but when I look at pictures...wow.  She's like a totally different baby!

As far as my "list"...long story short....I'm going to stop taking my iron tablets that Dr. Perkins prescribed for me back in the 3rd trimester (we think they might be messing with her tummy - and it's all about her now you know! :) Who cares if my iron is low!?)...I don't need to worry about her congestion (he said it sounds worse than it is - and one little "boogie" can make it sound terrible!)...no, she does not need to be on some kind of schedule at this point (I had asked if I should put her down for naps at the same time each day, etc)....and as far as her crazy feeding schedule?  He said it's perfectly normal - especially for a breastfed baby.  Yup, it'll be 2 hours one time and 4 hours the next.  :)  He said it will all work itself out.

I really like Dr. Kidd - he's a lot like Dr. Perkins.  I'm your typical Type A personality (I know - shocking for those of you that know me :)) and can get pretty uptight. :)  It's like they both know that about me and know how to "handle" me and my 1000 questions.  When I asked Dr. Kidd about a nap schedule - he was shaking his head "no" before I even had the question out. :)  They are both just very laid back - which is exactly the kind of doctor I need.

As I mentioned, Maddie got tired of waiting for Dr. Kidd...so we had a little snack.  I love how she had her tiny hand firmly gripped on my arm - as if she was saying "do NOT take this bottle out of my mouth for any reason!". :)  She did really well this time...usually she screams as soon as we take her clothes off.  This time she waited until he came into the room!

Otherwise we've had a good day - feeding has been on a good schedule and she's had some good naps (i.e. mommy was able to get some other stuff done!).  We had a nice visit from my sister and my nephew Sam - hadn't seen him since last summer and he's grown so much!  He didn't care too much for his mommy holding Maddie - so that was short and sweet. :)  Look forward to spending more time with them in the next couple days!
